Dichotomy...

I'm confused. When I left for work this morning, there was a black thong (Victoria's Secret, size M) on my door knob. I've heard of a neck tie, though I certainly have had no reason to put one there recently myself. But a thong? What does that mean? I didn't have much of an opportunity nor a desire to inspect it very thoroughly on my rush out the door, but a cursory glance suggested it was rather worn. Does anyone have an explanation for this bizarre occurance? Case of mistaken identity perhaps?
