How to make up for a shitty weekend full of schoolwork in 7 easy steps:
1) Go to the Atlanta Dogwood Festival in Piedmont Park with Tiffany 2 years ago.
2) Raid the Q100 (gay radio station) tent when the guy isn't looking and take 200 shiny stickers.
3) Live with Rob until you want to stab him in the face every time you see him.
4) Move out into a nice apartment and let him move into a shithole.
5) At 4 am on a Sunday, sneak into shithole apartment complex through broken gate.
6) Apply a healthy number of shiny (mmmm, shiny....) Q100 stickers all over his brand new Jetta (with, get this, laser cut keys! holy shit that's so cool).
7) Laugh hysterically because driving the Jetta hints that he's gay, but advertising his love for Q100 confirms it.

I'm pretty sure the Phoenix Saga is one of the best story arcs in the entire comic book world. I'm also sure there are plenty of people who disagree with me, but I contend that the Uncanny X-Men books contain some of the best writing since Shakespeare... And of that writing, I think the whole Jean Grey/Phoenix epic is fantastic beyond words. And i suppose that's why I'm up at 4:30 in the morning, 5 hours before a test that's worth 25% of my final grade in MSE. Ah well. Besides, I gurantee I can apply what I've learned from reading X-Men comics books long before I apply anything we cover in MSE.

On a less angry note, I got my hardback copy of Exploitation Now: Selling Out For Fun And Profit today. I already read probably 1/4 of it. I'd forgotten so much of the early storyline it was like reading something brand new. I'm super stoked about it cause Michael Poe is a fantastic artist and has a wickedly sick sense of humor. Also, his new project is over at Errant Story.

Stupid group crap makes me want to punch Art in the face for assigning us groups. We're 22 years old for christ's sake! I think you can stop holding our collective hand now assface... So of course I got assigned the group with the guy who does nothing and says nothing, ever, and the guy who talks incessantly and never accomplishes anything because he spends all his time having a one dimensional conversation with the guy who doesn't talk trying to reason out how to do the work with himself. Meanwhile, to keep from going crazy, I've already done the whole project because if I had to listen to Talky McGee instead of tuning him out and focusing on the project, I think I'd strangle him with the other kid's nonfunctioning vocal chords...

Is it august 1st yet? Adam = burned out on this semester.

Between the time I got home on Thursday around 3 pm and now, I think I've watched probably 36+ hours of television. I know, that's really really sad.... It's not like I don't have any other stuff to do. "It's a problem of motivation Bob..." It's just that I don't care. Usualyl I can count on Brian being very studious and keeping me on track, but this semester he's been much more lax in his attitude toward school than usual and it's so easy to just follow suit and blow off school work until the last minute. *sigh* I need to graduate. My brain is unwilling to learn anymore. Unwilling to learn useless information at least. I spent 6 hours the other day reading up on electronic circuits I wanted to use in my stereo setup. But I get antsy after 20 minutes of my materials science class... Go figure. Here's to procrastination...

Anyone following the ACC/Big East 'fiasco' should check out what those inventive kids at UVA wrote on their message board by going here. That's some funny stuff and puts a humorous spin on the whole situation of why the remaining Big East teams are being such retarded idiots about Miami joining the ACC.

why FOX has their heads up their asses:
-the simpsons should have ended 2 years ago
-futurama never should have been cancelled
-futurama shouldn't have been given a time slot that was continually bumped by football
-i have yet to watch an episode of family guy without laughing uncontrollably
-they probably won't go through with purchasing any new family guy episodes
-mike judge should go back to making office space caliber work
-they keep paying for king of the hill
-texas sucks
-titus was hilarious
-andy richter controls the universe was hilarious
-greg the bunny was hilarious
-x-files just wouldn't end until after it had become the worst show on tv
-at least they finally found a consistent night and time to show that 70's show for more than a month
-they made that 80's show

and that's just what i came up with in 2 minutes... fox produces a lot of great shows, they just don't seem to stick around. idiots.

and more bad news: the FCC voted to repeal several media outlet ownership restrictions. This lifts the ban on a newspaper owning a broadcast station in teh same city and allows networks to purchase even more stations then they could before. The upshot of the 3-2 vote was a surprisingly tighter restriction on consolidation of radio stations. Hopefully, this will temporarily slow down Clear Channel's voracious appetite for formerly good, independent radio stations. And the no-brainer of the day award goes to their decision to dissalow one of the major networks (ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS) from buying out another major network. So, yes, there's a little good news. But unfortunately, TV and your newspaper are about to get more streamlined and homogenized. Thanks FCC. You suck.

aaaahhhhh!!! stupid school... it's only 3.5 weeks in, and so of course because it's summer, all my tests hit at the same time. I have 2 tests tomorrow, one on thursday, and one on friday. There should be some sort of rule against that. Also, there shoudl be a rule against senior's having to take tests at all. I don't mind doing homework, i don't mind reading the book, i don't mind going to class, but god how i hate studying for tests...

stupid [Adult Swim] taking away Futurama and Family Guy on Sundays... I'm sure those other shows are good, it's just that I don't care. I want Futurama and Family Guy dammit!

political compass.org is such a great website. Every time I go there it reminds me of why I can't stand GWB. He's my polar opposite socially and economically. See, I'm basically an anarcho-communist. I agree with a lot of the ideals of communism, but know they don't work out in the real world. Similarly, anarchy sounds good on paper, but I enjoy living too much to think anarchy would actually be a feasible societal order. So I'm about halfway between center and pure anarchy and center and pure communism. That puts me smack dab in the lower left quadrant of Mr. Political Spectrum. This chart should help illustrate my point. I fall somewhere right around Nelson Mandela and The Dalai Lama. Also, Gandhi was in the same area, he's just not on this chart. Now look at dirty old Bush way up there in the upper right. Blegh... ;)
