mmm, opening weekend of college football. watched so many games today. *drool*

Well, GT football let me down once again. Thanks guys. Our new QB played a much better game than I have ever seen Suggs play, but overall, our team was just making sloppy mistakes and not capitalizing when we got in the red zone. *sigh* It's the same story every game, every year (except for when Joe Hamilton was still here). I'm tired of having my heart broken once a week from August to December.

So I've been wearing my badge of geekdom (thanks to a Sharpie Industrial) around for over 24 hours now, and I gotta tell you, I'm really digging it. I will definitely be getting this inked in the very near future. Should there have been any doubts about my level of nerdiness, despite being able to recount any episode of ST:TNG within 2 minutes of the opening theme, still playing with Legos at 22, or my encyclopedic knowledge of Simpsons trivia, this should put those naysayers in their place. I mean, really, what could be more geeky than having the fundamental principle of electrical engineering visibly tattooed on your arm? Maybe that middle name in binary idea was geekier, but that's more of a CS-nerd thing. But this, this my friends, is all EE-nerd. Hell yeah.

You know you've attained a new level of geekdom when: you're eating breakfast in the student center and suddenly the idea of getting ohm's law in triangle form tattooed on your forearm sounds like the coolest thing you could ever do.

In other news: Benny Goodman's The Famous 1938 Carnegie Hall Jazz Concert LP is my new best friend.

In Brian's inebriated slurs at 3:30 this morning - "hooray, we're having a college experience!"

Except for babysitting Ruff while he puked in my bathroom at 4 AM, Tim's 2nd bday outing last night was a rousing success. We took in a monster truck show including the legendary Snake Bite (go Ford!!). Followed that up with a 1 AM pool party at my apartment featuring the music of Anthem Of The Century ("these lies must pass"), a lot of liquor (see above about Ruff), and some very foxy ladies (call me). Tim needs to have birthdays more often...

Why I love my major: from Winter 1997 to Summer 2003, the ECE department has awarded 4169 degrees. 531 of those degrees were to women. Of those, only 297 were undergraduate degrees. On the other hand, 2028 undergraduate degrees were awarded to men in that same time period. That's roughly a 7:1 ratio of guys to girls in undergraduate ECE classes and about 8:1 overall in the department. Frankly, I think that's pretty liberal. Given the number of classes I've had that have been 40 guys and 1 girl, I don't know where the rest of these girls are hiding. Suffice it to say that Electrical Engineering is the wrong major to meet chicks.

why is it that i always have more fun clebrating tim's birthday than my own? i wonder if it has anything to do with his birthday being at the beginning of the fall when everyone is in high spirits and excited to see each other again and my birthday is at the end of spring semester when school has beaten everyone down and everyone's sick of each other. huh. well, nontheless, tim's b-day tonight was a blast. for my next birthday, i'll be graduating from college. so that ought to be good enough, right?

by contrast, sorting through papers from middle school is the definition of agony. but really, what's the point of keeping a worksheet from 7th grade history class? god, i feel so sorry for my teachers though, back before the days of ubiquitous computers, those poor souls had to decipher my handwriting. Even I'm not sure anymore what half of what I wrote is. *sigh* Oh well, it's all in the trash now. Saved a couple things that I'm sure I'll just throw out next time, but at least for now they seemed somewhat meaningful.

spending time with friends you've known since elementary school is the definition of bliss.

Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 is the best game ever. Multiplayer-->Wipeout. Tommy and I attained a ridiculous score of 267,500 tonight after falling off a bridge while doing a barspin flair then smashing into the ground at the bottom, only to be run over and dragged along by 4 cars. Yes, greatest game ever. Tommy and I were practically in tears we were laughing so hard. Thanks Acclaim.

Things that rock:
1. Cruising down Beach Drive with my windows down blasting Credence.
2. Playing guitar on the porch listening to the ocean.
3. Passing thermo.
4. Sleeping for 13 hours straight.
5. Getting stung by a jellyfish, but shrugging it off cause I'm a manly man.

Well, I'm off to the beach for a week. The plan is to remove all traces of this past semester from my memory through intense levels of solar radiation and lots of sleep. If anyone needs to reach me, call my cell anytime after noon. God help you if my phone rings before that...

Man, i'm glad I don't live at Collier Ridge anymore, I'd have to drive way out of my way if I wanted to get Wendy's.
"Around 8 a.m., Atlanta firefighters were called to the scene of a fast-food restaurant in northwest Atlanta near Interstate 75.
A firefighter suffered a cut to the hand during that blaze, which occurred at Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers in the 1700 block of Howell Mill Road.
Authorities said the blaze at the restaurant, which suffered heavy smoke and fire damage, started at the rear of the eatery. Workers stood outside and watched while crews fought the fire.
The blaze was extinguished about an hour after it started. Crews said the cause of the blaze remains under investigation." - WSBTV

My old Wendy's caught on fire this morning!! How sad :(
