done studying. do i dare go to bed now? my exam is at 8 am and i need to leave at 7 to counteract the morning rush hour (which is exactly why i don't schedule classes before 10 am, but finals are all weird that way). so maybe i could get 1.5 hour nap in... then i'll just be cranky when i wake up, and my brain will be clouded with sleep. instead it'll just be clouded with caffeine. i've found that i'm much more alert when operating on no sleep than when operating on not enough sleep. thanks to mr. adrenaline. huh, this sounds strangely like my post from 7/16/03, go figure...

I feel that this comic accurately represents my attitude toward my impending finals tomorrow.

studying sucks...

Finally!! All my assignments are turned in and tests overwith and papers finished. Now I can take a deep sigh of relief. Until Sunday. Then I need to start learning a whole semester's worth of Thermodynamics so I can pass the final on Tuesday. Woo! (kill me...)

For the past week or so I haven't been able to go to sleep while it's dark outside. It seems like the sun needs to come up before I can fall asleep. It's not like I'm not trying to go to bed either. I can crawl into bed at 2 am and stare at the ceiling until dawn before I doze off. Is this something I should be concerned about? Hmm...

Radio Shack employs dirty dirty liars who should be purged from the earth. I needed some speciality fuses and much to my surprise, Radio Shack actually carries them. So I called them up at 7:45 to ask how late they were open. The guy said he was open until 9. So I figured, no big rush, I'll finish my dinner and then head over. So I get there at 8:15, roll by the front of the store. Seems kinda dark, but a lot of Radio Shacks have those tinted windows, and besides, the sign on the door says "Come in, we're OPEN" So I try to come on in. But I can't because they're closed. Yes. Not only did the guy who works there lie to me, because the store hours on the front door clearly state M-F 10-8, Sat/Sun 10-6, but the sign on the door lied to me as well, because I don't know what their definition of "open" is, but in my dictionary, closed is the damned opposite of open. Bastards.

I'd like to thank Texas Instruments and the human adrenal gland for getting me through my last MSE test today. Having not slept since 2:30 pm yesterday, I feel that I was doing quite well to even make it to class, much less do well on the test because all the formulas I needed were in my calculator. Thanks TI for makign programmable calculators. You're the reason I've passed so many tests. And adrenaline is a wonderful thing. I just can't stop moving for more than 15 minutes or my body will shut down and I'll fall asleep. Too bad I have another test in an hour. Blech...

Poison is quite possibly the best band to study to. They're so peppy and you can sing along to the mindless hair rock out loud without distracting your brain from the task at hand. Thanks '80s hair metal!

Why I'll miss college if I ever get out of here: finishing a paper, drinking fresca, and eating a donut as the sun comes up doesn't seem weird to me.

Why I miss the Soviet Union: hilarious linko! and because "Joseph Stalin is & TM by the All-Union Communist Party (Bolsheviks)."

It's either a very good sign or a very bad sign that I'm dreaming about op-amps and RLC networks... I've been struggling to figure out how to solve them recently for my analog electronics class and I can usually get halfway through the problem and then I get stuck on something that makes no sense. No more! Thanks to dreaming about op-amps with RLC networks attached, I woke up 10 minutes ago and it all made sense. So I busted out some practice quizzes and everything works out perfectly now. Go figure.

You know what rules? After being soundly asleep for 2 solid hours waking up with a sever case of the hiccups that just won't go away no matter what you try. So I've been sitting in bed for the last 15 minutes trying to make my hiccups stop to no avail. Finally after holding my breath for nearly 2 minutes (I know, I didn't think I could do it either, but Mr. Stopwatch doesn't lie.) my hbiccups appear to have subsided to occuring about every 2-3 minutes instead of every 15 seconds. Maybe now I can go back to sleep.

This just in: T3 is the proverbial shit. It's so good I want T4 to come out tomorrow. Especially if Claire Danes could be removed from it somehow. Except that we know her character can't die now, so they just need to recast her. An actress who's not just eye candy, like Sigourney Weaver (Alien series) or Linda Hamilton (Terminator 1&2). Strong females roles who honest to god scare the hell out of me AND are attractive. Claire Danes' "look of shock" got old after the first 20 minutes of the movie, but it kept being on her face through the whole movie. Except for her, the movie was fantastic. It's not even that I don't like her as an actress. I loved My So-Called Life and she's great in all those girly movies, but she's just not an action movie girl. Anyway, the new terminator model TX was amazing, and casting Kristanna Loken was inspired. And yes, Arnold is still a bad-ass, even at almost 56 years old. And even without bad-ass-turned-big-wuss James Cameron directing, the movie rocked my world, to use the vernacular.

so prohosting is a terrible web server. my website is just gone. can't log in, can't ftp, can't reach my site at all. worthless. now i'm glad i tried their free option first to see what the quality was like before i paid for a better level of hosting. fuck that shit.

apparently, prohosting decided they didn't need to host my webpage anymore, and just shut down the whole server. Hmm... And just when I was beginning to think they were a great web server... we'll see if it comes back anytime soon, or if I have to send them an angry letter and then find a new host.
